Top 5 Christmas gifts for Welsh foodies

I was writing my Christmas shopping list last night and it gave me some blog inspiration. So, without delay, and in no particular order, here are my top five Christmas gifts for Welsh food-lovers. All products are available online and the prices are correct at the time of writing. Enjoy 🙂

1) Christmas Cracker hamper. £93, Welsh Hamper Company

The Welsh Hamper Company have been selling christmas hampers for ten years, and there are plenty of different types to choose from. The Christmas Cracker hamper is sure to get foodies into the festive spirit. It features fourteen mouth-watering goodies including an iced christmas cake, Black Mountain liqeur and strawberry and champagne preserve.

2) Welsh cake tin. Adra, £15

A vintage-look cream tin to keep your cakes fresh. Choose from two different styles featuring the Welsh words for cake, “teisen” (south dialect) or “cacen” (north dialect).

3) A Little Welsh Cookbook, by E. Smith Twiddy. Amazon, £4.49

This sixty-page, cheap-as-chips hard-cover is packed full of traditional Welsh dishes, “chosen to give a selection from every corner of Wales.” Whilst adventurous foodies might be keen to try out Spiced Eels and Fishguard Herrings, there are plenty of play-it-safe options too, including my personal favourite, Glamorgan Sausages.

4) Christmas casket of 50. Pemberton’s Welsh Chocolate Farm, £26.95

A box of fifty luxurious chocolates, including the popular mince pie and christmas pudding truffles. Based in Llanboidy in the centre of the Welsh countryside, the farm also offers chocolate workshops and tours – move over Willy Wonka!

5) Luxury Welsh cheese board. £44, Bodlon

Five delicious Welsh cheeses on a Welsh slate, cheese knife included. Just add crackers.

I want the cake tin! Actually, I want everything! I think I know the cheeses on the last item, I couldn't afford the gift set so I made a less posh one myself with those cheeses for my dad and the cheeses were amazing.
