This weekend sees the return of Cardiff’s annual International Food and Drink Festival, a free event offering only the finest in Welsh food, including farmhouse cheeses, chocolates, liqeurs and more.
Set in the heart of Cardiff Bay, this three-day event sees the Roald Dahl Plass transform into a bustling hub featuring a Producer’s Fayre, Farmers’ Market, Food Piazza, Craft Fair and Champagne Bar.
Festival-goers can eat their heart out whilst watching live performances from Soul, Jazz, Folk, Skiffle, Country and Western.
Highlights for 2011 include the John Lewis Food Theatre, offering a selection of cookery demonstrations and practical classes. The chef will be preparing traditional, signature dishes using fresh, local ingredients, many of which will be available to buy from the food stalls on the day. Admission to the Food Theatre is free, but to secure a ticket you will need to visit the Information Caravan on site.
The festival runs from Friday 8th – Sunday 10th July.
