Cook the perfect Christmas dinner with Hello Fresh

Crispy roast chicken packed with sage and onion stuffing, served with roast potatoes so crispy, you hear a crunch every time someone bites into one. Honey-glazed parsnips, sliced carrots, diced swede, juicy petit pois and fresh sprouts. Not forgetting a golden brown Yorkshire pudding or two, and lashings of rich, meaty gravy. What does your perfect Christmas dinner look like?

When you’re busy preparing for Christmas, it can be easy to leave thinking about the Christmas dinner until the last minute, but as it’s one of the highlights of Christmas Day, it’s important to get it right.

Luckily, I don’t have to cook a Christmas dinner this year because I’ll be at my mum’s in Ross-on-Wye for Christmas. Aren’t mother’s Christmas dinners just the best?! This is one of my mum’s masterpieces.

Perfect Christmas Dinner

It was a similar story last year, when I spent Christmas day in Portugal with my best friend. We had a two-course Christmas dinner at Restaurante D. Henrique in Lagos, Algarve and shared starters of tuna carpaccio and salmon and swordfish duet, followed by a roast rack of lamb and a beef fillet steak.

If you’ve been tasked with cooking Christmas dinner this year and haven’t even given any thought to what meat you’ll be serving, or what veggies you’ll be dishing up with it – let alone the sides and sauces – rest assured that Hello Fresh are here to save Christmas Day!

Hello Fresh understand how stressful it can be to prepare the perfect Christmas dinner, so they’ve created an Ultimate Christmas Dinner Guide to help take the hassle out of it, so you can spend more time having fun with the family on Christmas Day!

The Ultimate Christmas Dinner Guide offers a step-by-step guide to cooking a festive feast for up to ten people and getting it on the table by 4pm, although if you’re cooking for less people or want to eat at a different time, you can adjust the measurements and timings.

What a fantastic guide – I’ve signed up. I don’t really have any tips – we usually go to Steve’s parents for dinner, haha – so I get out of cooking!

Ooh this looks so good! Admittedly I am not the cook in our house, the wife is and we tend to have Turkey and all the trimmings.

    • December 13, 2017 / 12:08 pm

Sounds delicious. I tend to prefer chicken; I find turkey a bit dry at times.

I only ever hear good things about HelloFresh so i really should try one of their boxes…think it’s great they’ve put together a guide for preparing Christmas Dinner. I don’t have any of my own tips unfortunately as i go to my mum’s for Christmas every year so i’ve never had to cook it myself lol! xx

    • December 19, 2017 / 12:38 pm

Lucky you! I am the same to be fair, but I do a mean roast dinner (if I do say so myself), so I don’t think I’d struggle with Christmas dinner.
