Even before the current coronavirus outbreak, there’ve always been many reasons to visit the UK or enjoy a UK staycation. For those of us who live in Britain, it’s often cheaper to holiday at home and it certainly helps to boost the local economy. Furthermore, there are also many beautiful places to visit in the UK. One of the best things about travelling in the UK is being able to admire the many natural beauty spots that we’re lucky enough to have here.

Here are six of the most beautiful places to visit in the UK for us to look forward to visiting when it becomes safe for us to travel again. Make sure you use your common sense when visiting these destinations; even if we’re told we can now visit natural beauty spots, social distancing should still be observed. If you turn up somewhere to find that hoardes of other tourists have got there before you, do the right thing. Get back into your car, turn around and head elsewhere.

Lulworth Cove

Perched on the World Heritage Site near West Lulworth, Dorset, Lulworth Cove’s clear waters and pebbled beach attract over 500,000 visitors a year, mainly during the summer months.

You only have to glance at a picture of this postcard-perfect sunny cove to see why this is one of the most beautiful places in the UK. In July or August, when the sun is at its hottest and the waters are mild, you could easily be fooled into thinking you holidaying in the Mediterranean.

Dorset itself is one of the prettiest parts of the UK, home to hundreds of thriving independent restaurants, shops and bars, besides other beauty spots like Durdle Door and Weymouth Harbour. Treat yourself to a stay in one of the many accommodating Dorset Holiday Cottages in the area and look forward to to soaking up the sun in the south-west!

Cheddar Gorge

One of the UK’s most-visited tourist attractions, the Cheddar Gorge is an ancient limestone gorge in the beautiful county of Somerset, also in south-west England. Once you’ve seen it for yourself, you’ll understand perfectly why this is the case. This natural beauty site is breathtakingly stunning, and it’s the kind of rare sight that only the West Country can really offer.

Like many UK natural beauty spots, the Cheddar Gorge is a great place to go hiking or strolling if you’re the active type. It’s also a fantastic spot for a family picnic, so it might be worth taking a bite to eat – and what better than the world-famous cheese that the area is so well-known for?

Black Mountains

Not so much mountains, but more of a group of low hills spread over South Wales and extending across the Welsh border into Herefordshire, England, the Black Mountains are an incredibly awe-inspiring sight to behold and one of the most beautiful places in the UK.

Again, this a great destination for hiking or rambling and if you’re looking to explore further afield in Wales, the Black Mountains would be a great base for a short family holiday or even a romantic weekend away.

Of all the holiday cottages South Wales has to offer, those in the Black Mountains are particularly nice to stay in and if you’re really lucky, you might end up in a quirky, cosy old cottage in the middle of nowhere. You could easily find yourself spending a good week or so there, rambling around the local countryside and relaxing in some of the local pubs.

Fingal’s Cave

Moving on up to Scotland, we come across a particularly idllic natural beauty spot which has vastly grown in popularity over the last few decades. If you appreciate natural sights which are more or less undisturbed, you’ll love Fingal’s Cave, as it’s so pristine and beautiful.

Fingal’s Cave is a beautifully kept natural cave on Isle of Staffa, and just one glimpse of this natural wonder makes it clear to see why so many people are so keen to see it every year. This sea cave in the Inner Hebrides was formed a long time ago by the same lava flow that caused the famous Irish Giant’s Causeway.

Fortunately, it’s also very easy to visit, as all you need to do is catch one of the boats which sail from the Isle at regular intervals on most days of the year. You’re unlikely to forget this strange and evocative UK sight anytime soon! It’s no surprise it’s widely regarded as one of the most beautiful places in the UK. Snowdonia

Back in Wales, we have the beautiful mountain of Snowdonia – one of the three highest peaks in the UK and arguably, the most popular one to climb. If you’re looking for an adventurous kind of holiday, you should definitely be considering a Snowdonia road trip.

You’ll probably be able to reach the top of the mountain in a day or so, and no doubt you’ll be able to find a local climbing troupe to join to make the experience even safer and a whole lot more fun. Snowdonia boasts some of the best natural views across Wales, and you’ll certainly feel as though all the hard work was worth it once you get to the summit!

Loch Lomond

A number of Scotland’s lochs are world-famous and Loch Lomond is widely regarded as the most famous of all, although Loch Ness is a close contender.

If you’ve never seen a loch or even visited Scotland before, you might well be wondering exactly what this term refers to. A loch is a large lake, usually set within trees and woodlands, or sometimes among wide plains.

Loch Lomond is famous for being especially beautiful, and particularly large. If you’re visiting Scotland, be sure to stop off here at some point!
