Back in 2010, I left Cardiff University with a journalism degree in journalism and an insatiable hunger for food writing. With no desire to leave Cardiff for the bright lights of London , I struggled to find paid journalism work in Wales and I needed an outlet for my writing, so I began blogging about the South Wales food and drink scene.
Fast forward to 2015 and The Rare Welsh Bit had grown to become a popular food blog, enabling me to build my profile as a writer and meet lots of like-minded people. Meanwhile, having spent three months in Jamaica, I’d well and truly caught the travel bug and couldn’t wait to start writing about the different foods I’d eaten on my travels.
So, I began posting about my travel experiences, as well as what I’d been eating. I hope you enjoy reading about my escapades just as much as I enjoy writing about them!
