You’ll find ample nursery slopes at the village level and pleasant red runs at Mont Chery, while experts adore the vertiginous black runs like ‘The Wall’ and the ‘World Cup’ run from Hautes Fortes.

Avoriaz

With north-facing slopes which retain their snow well throughout the season, high-altitude skiing with a variety of green, blue, red and black slopes, beautiful scenery and a lively apres-ski scene, Avoriaz is one of Portes du Soleil’s flagship resorts.

Off the slopes in Avoriaz, kids from 5-16 years can’t get enough of super-fun snow-scoot sessions on a supervised track. There’s a high-tech laser quest arena and tag archery to keep them busy too!

Ski tracks across the snow

Morzine

An authentic Alpine town in the Haute Chablais mountains, Morzine’s 1000m altitude level leaves it less exposed than some of its higher-altitude competitors, but an efficient lift system unlocks skiing at all altitudes.

The A-frame chalet accommodation which characterises this resort satisfies traditionalists, but it’s no backwater  ̶  the ‘Rock the Pistes’ live music event is usually held here each March, with bands playing live on the slopes and venues like Robinsons busy all year-round.

Snowboarding hotspot, Snowpark d’Arare sits above Morzine and Avoriaz  . Founded in 1993, this is France’s first dedicated park for snowboarders.

As you can see, Portes du Soleil has lots to offer for visitors of all ages and preferences. If you want snow, sun and good times, this is a difficult skiing destination to beat for a winter’s getaway!
