With Easter Sunday just under a week away, if you haven’t already stocked up on your Easter eggs, you’d better hop to it. If you’re looking to surprise someone with an Easter egg a little less ordinary, take a look at the egg-citing range of eggs on offer at Marks and Spencer right now. Here are four of my favourites:
Colin the Caterpillar – Colin’s Apple, 350g/£8
I’ve never seen an apple-shaped Easter egg before and this Colin the Caterpillar egg looks pretty cool, even if it does have a jelly worm eating holes in it. Made of smooth, creamy milk chocolate, the egg is paired with a bag of jelly worms which are actually not as bad as they sound – pleasantly fruity, in fact. Ideal for kids.

M&S Dark Chocolate Quirky Bunny, £10/220g
In a twist on the traditional bunny rabbit, M&S’ abstract dark chocolate bunny is covered in multi-faceted sides and brushed with edible gold paint. I’m not a huge fan of dark chocolate and this was a little too bitter for my liking, but I was very impressed by the design of this modern chocolate bunny rabbit.

Frozen White Chocolate Arendelle Castle 220g/£8
This is not an egg, but an intricately decorated white chocolate castle just like the Arendelle Castle in Disney’s Frozen. If I was a little girl, I would be thrilled to wake up on Easter Sunday and discover that the Easter bunny had left this for me. The white chocolate was thick, velvety and slightly sweet. It’s a shame you don’t get anything else with the castle, though – I expected to find a bag of sweets, especially as this egg/castle is targeted at children.

Marks and Spencers Hollow Soft Fudge Egg, 100g/£5
Unlike the other M&S easter eggs I’ve featured, this egg is actually egg-shaped. It’s made from a rich, buttery fudge, instead of chocolate; thedownside of this being that the fudge is fairly soft, so the egg can lose its shape easily if not handled with care (although let’s be fair, it’ll be in your mouth in no time anyway). This egg would be perfect for any fudge lover and although it’s smaller than your average Easter egg, the size works well because the fudge is rather sweet.

Tell me about the best eggs you’ve seen on sale this Easter in the comment box below.
M&S sent me a selection of chocolate eggs to review, although I purchased the Frozen castle egg myself. I was not obliged to write a positive review of any of these products.

That apple with the caterpillar is amazing!!! I’m going to have to hunt that down! 🙂
If you pop down to M&S now, it may even be reduced 🙂
The castle one looks fab its great there are so msny different designs to buy.
It was such an intricate design – very eye-catching!
I really like the quirky designs of these! If I were choosing based on taste however, I would go for the Hollow Soft Fudge Egg. It sounds so very delicious x
I’m sure you would’ve loved the fudge egg!
Wow, I love the look of the one that is sprayed gold. I love anything unusual like that!
Me too, it gave it that added touch of class!
These look fab! I just love the basic Cadbury one’s at Easter x
I like a good old Cadbury’s egg too. I can never resist the M&S ones either though >.<
They all look delicious but I like the look of the frozen castle especially as white chocolate is my favourite!
It’s reduced to ÂŁ2.20 at M&S currently!
Wow these are very different! My favourite has to be Colin’s Apple…Adorable!
I was a big fan of that one too 🙂
The frozen white chocolate castle candy is by far my favorite! It’s got the coolest design.
And here’s a tip – it’s currently reduced to ÂŁ2.20 in M&S!
What amazing easter eggs! I’ve not come across any of them yet, but I love the diversity!
M&S always produce a stunning selection of Easter eggs – my only problem is choosing just 1/2!
They make some good easter eggs and really unusual ones too
I always love browsing the M&S Easter eggs 🙂
What a fun collection! I love that quirky chocolate bunny.
I loved the shape of the bunny – shame it was made of dark chocolate, which I’m not too keen on.
What a lovely selection of chocolates! It would be a success with little man! 🙂
Aww I’m sure he would have loved Colin’s Apple 🙂
I don’t really think about unusally easter eggs like this but they would definitely make great alternatives as gifts!
Definitely 🙂 I would’ve been delighted with any of these eggs.
The geometric rabbit one blew my socks off! That’s how to reinvent the easter egg, it’s stunning. Sad to hear it was too bitter for you, but I agree that a dark chocolate Easter egg sits in a far more niche market than Easter eggs which are actually tasty! Perhaps it should have fought its corner a little more and added in some spices to add to it’s unique-ness; it’s M&S after all, they can afford to give the consumer an extra kick of flavour in exchange for M&S prices.
Yes, the shape was very impressive and unlike anything I saw on the shop shelves for Easter this year. I agree that adding spices could have helped to jazz things up a little!
These all look like amazing Easter eggs, I like the collins apple its unique
A firm favourite, so it seems!
Wow these are such great alternatives to Easter eggs!
I particularly like Colin’s apple 🙂

Colin’s Apple seems to be very popular amongst my readers 🙂
My daughter bought my husband the M&S nougat egg like the fudge egg. We felt it was poor value at ÂŁ5, though it was tasty. . She bought me the M&S 12 bird eggs. They were really pretty, the size about quail size. They had solid white and brown chocolate centres and were delicious.
Ooh I saw the nougat egg too, it looked tasty if you’re into nougat. It is a lot of money for ÂŁ5 though, I agree. The bird eggs sound great!
Not gonna lie, that apple made me laugh haha love it!
Haha yeah, that was pretty funky!
