Although the UK is currently on lockdown due to Covid-19 and plans for trips are on hold, if you have some downtime you might want to start thinking ahead to when we are able to get out and about in the fresh air again. Caravan holidays – love them or hate them? No doubt we’ve all been on the occasional family caravan holiday in our time. When I was a child, my Mum was terrified of flying, so our family holidays were confined to the likes of Butlins and Pontins holiday parks.
Once, we even stayed in a gas-only caravan (with no electric) in Trecco Bay, Porthcawl; we had to entertain ourselves, although it actually made for the funnest family holiday we’ve ever had!
Thankfully, caravans have come a long way since then and some of the models available nowadays are rather deluxe indeed!

Once you’ve done that, have a look and see if there are caravan sites nearby that you might be able to stay at. Then you could look to see if you can link some of these places up and create your own mini tour for a one or two week holiday. This will start to give you an idea of the flexibility of caravanning and if it is for you. And even if it isn’t, you’ve still found some great places around the country for when we are able to get out and about again.
If you’ll be travelling a long way from home, consider investing in a caravan tracker for peace of mind that your vehicle will remain safe and secure while you’re away.

Never bought one – but my friends all have one so we love a carvan / camping holiday — and if nothing else it’s the facilities that a carvan allows – especially when you have gas…and a bit of water…bringing back some great memories!

Until recently I had never really thgought about owning a caravan but as a large family it makes far more sense to have one for holidays and trips.
