This is a firm favourite when it comes to Rhodes’ many beaches, as it’s only 20 minutes by car from the Old Town. It is easy to get to and once you are there, you may not want to leave – it’s secluded and gorgeous, and popular with those hoping to see a glorious sunrise or sunset.
However, it’s worth mentioning that Anthony Quinn Bay is a stony, rather than sandy, beach, but that shouldn’t stop you from relaxing on a beach chair with a good book. Be aware that this beach is loved by a great cross-section of visitors, and as such, it can get quite busy during the summer months.
Pefki Beach
If the busy vibe of Anthony Quinn Bay isn’t for you, head to Pefki Beach. This option is perfect for those looking for a more secluded beach, as its location means it isn’t close to a huge amount of hotels.
A narrow and small beach, it has both sand and pebbles and the water is shallow and pleasant – perfect for a relaxing dip in the water without a big crowd around you.
St Paul’s Beach
Are you a keen swimmer? Head to medieval Lindos to enjoy the multiple beautiful beach options. St Paul’s is perhaps the most well-loved of the three, as it’s positioned beneath the acropolis for that real Greek experience. This sandy beach also boasts its very own beachfront bar, meaning you’ll be able to grab a refreshing juice or cocktail while chilling out in the sun.
