In this post, I’m sharing a quick and easy recipe for King Prawn Linguine from UK recipe box home delivery service, HelloFresh. I’ll also provide an insight into how the HelloFresh service works and what you can expect if you sign-up.

Packed with succulent king prawns, juicy tomatoes and fresh herbs and spices, it’s easy to see why King Prawn Linguine is such a popular dish. So, when HelloFresh got in touch and asked me to recreate a recipe from their extensive collection, it didn’t take me long to decide I wanted to try out this popular Italian pasta recipe.
King Prawn Linguine by HelloFresh
Ready in just 30 minutes, HelloFresh’s King Prawn Linguine is ideal for a busy mid-week supper to serve all the family. View the original recipe here.

All the ingredients needed to make this recipe can be purchased from your local shop or supermarket, although you might wish to buy your king prawns from your local fishmonger. When shopping for fresh prawns, always look for the blue MSC ecolabel, so you can be sure that you’re buying sustainable seafood. While pre-packed chilled or frozen prawns can be convenient, you can never be sure of exactly how fresh they are and they’re never quite as big as the ones you see at the fish market. Ask the fishmonger to peel and de-vein the prawns – it’ll save you the job later!
You could also make this dish using spaghetti, but linguine is the ideal vessel for the rich, silky tomato sauce because its narrow, ribbon-like structure enables it to glide through the sauce.

King Prawn Linguine is filling enough to eat alone, but it tastes even better sprinkled with freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano and teamed with pungent garlic bread. To drink, serve a crisp Sauvignon Blanc to complement the prawns.

King Prawn Linguine
Ingredients
- 2 onions finely chopped
- 4 tbsp flat-leaf parsley finely chopped
- 2 tsp green chilli finely chopped
- 360 g linguine
- 4 garlic cloves finely chopped
- 3 tbsp sun-dried tomatoes finely chopped
- 250 g king or tiger prawns halved lengthways
- 2 tins chopped tomatoes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Bring a large pan of water to the boil while you heat up 2 tbsp of olive oil in a frying pan over a medium heat. Once hot, proceed to cook the onions, garlic and sundried tomatoes.
- Sprinkle in the chilli, together with a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook for 5 mins and be careful not to let the ingredients burn.
- Add the tinned tomatoes, together with 1/2 tsp of sugar. Mix in 1/4 tsp of salt and a few grinds of black pepper. Let the mixture bubble away on a medium to low heat for around 10 mins, until the sauce has thickened.
- Cook your pasta in the boiling water with 1/2 tsp of salt for around 6 mins. Once the pasta is ‘al dente’, drain it.
- Once your pasta sauce has thickened up, stir in the raw prawns and cook them for a few mins until they turn pink.
- Transfer the drained pasta into the pan with the tomato sauce. Sprinkle over the parsley, then toss the ingredients together to combine.
