So, I’ve been busy rounding up some of the best things to see and do in Belfast this summer. Here are some of the best Belfast events and venues for foodies to consider heading to this year.
Take a cookery class at Belfast Cookery School

If you’ve ever immersed yourself in a cookery class before you’ll know that, not only do you get to learn how to rustle up an exciting new dish, but you get to have a whole lot of fun in the process!
Keen cooks will no doubt love a trip to Belfast Cookery School, which offers an extensive programme of different classes to help you to sharpen up your cooking skills. From vegan and plant-based foods Italian, Indian, Asian, traditional British food, and even a children’s baking session, there’s something to appeal to all appetites. Try something new at Barge Vegan Day

You don’t have to be vegan to appreciate the creativity and wholesome flavours of a fantastically prepared vegan dish. Over on the Belfast Barge, enjoy a full day of mouthwatering food and live entertainment onboard Belfast’s only floating venue. Twelve of the city’s best vegan traders will be on hand to wow you with their delicious food, to a soundtrack of live acoustic music. Discover new gourmet gadgets at Love Your Food
When: Friday 9th – Sunday 11th June 2023
Where: Titanic Exhibition Centre, 17 Queens Road, Belfast, BT3 9DU
Spread over three days, this festival for lovers of all things food, cooking, and kitchen gadgets offers much to explore. New for 2023, Love Your Food boasts over 70 exhibitions, a live kitchen theatre, kitchen gadget demos, cookery demos, cocktail and mixology classes, food tasting opportunities, and local artisan food producers. Sample traditional Belfast food and drink produce, and discover the best local restaurants to visit after the festival too. Just make sure you go hungry!

Back again as part of Taste Summer in Ards and North Down, Comber Earlies food festival is free to attend, and is bound to impress even the most discerning of foodie. Taking place just outside Belfast, it’s around a 30 minute-drive from the city centre.
More information will be revealed soon, but last year’s event saw 40 food stalls including local artisan producers, an artisan bar with local distilleries and breweries, children’s entertainment, and cookery demos from celebrity chefs.
Eat your way around Common Market Belfast
Belfast’s latest street food offering, Common Market brings together the city’s best street food vendors. The team behind this bustling new food market have taste-tested and approved each and every trader, ensuring only the best quality food is served. Current options includes poutine, Mexican street food, gelato, Filipino, burgers, pizza, and more. Plus, there are plenty of vegan, veggie and gluten-free options, so you needn’t worry about a lack of choice. As you dine, listen to live music performed in support of local charities.

One of Belfast’s oldest attractions is St. George’s Market. It’s full of all sorts of things to discover including antiques and collectables, plants, health and beauty products, jewellery, and, of course, local food and drink produce. You’ll find colourful displays of fresh, locally sourced fruit and veg, vegan and gluten-free baked goods, homemade curries, decadent desserts, gourmet burgers, top-shelf meat, speciality coffee, world food, chutneys, jams, and much more. Saturday or Sunday is the best day to go, as that’s when all the food stalls are open.

This little charmer has all sorts booked in its calendar. There are quiz nights on Wednesdays; live music on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays; and bottomless brunches on Saturdays and Sundays, with street food and cocktails up for grabs. A trendy venue with a community vibe, this is the place to be if you’re looking to enjoy the best of Belfast’s nightlife scene, while nibbling on scrumptious street food in the process.
