There are few holiday destinations around the world as desirable as the Amalfi Coast. Based in Italy’s Campania region, this 50km stretch of dramatic coastline is incredibly charming and picturesque. Expect dainty fishing villages, beautiful clifftop views, and small beaches, with the surrounding countryside comprising vineyards, lemon groves, and large villas. And that’s before we even get started on all the irresistible Italian food you’ll be able to enjoy whilst you’re there…
Planning a holiday to the Amalfi Coast? Here are a few tips to help you to get the most out of your trip.

Where to visit
The entire Amalfi Coast is postcard-perfect. Wherever you go, you’re bound to have a wonderful stay. However, there are a few must-see sights to add to your itinerary for the best experience. Head to Villa Cimbrone for the most incredible views from the Belvedere of Infinity, spend a day relaxing at the longest, sandiest beach in the region – Mariori Beach – or explore the spectacular gardens at Villa Rufolo.
How best to get around
One of the great things about the Amalfi Coast is that there are many different ways to travel around the town, which help to make it accessible for different kinds of travellers. Hiking can be a great way to explore the region, with many scenic routes to follow. You can even join walking tours in the Amalfi Coast to ensure you get to see all the local highlights, discover the story and history of the town, and meet new people along the way.
If you can hire a car, this will give you flexibility and control, with roads winding along the coast offering mesmerising views out to sea. However, if you don’t drive or can’t afford a hire car, rest assured that there’s a reliable local bus service – although it can get busy during the heights of summer!
Best time to visit
The Amalfi Coast can get very busy during summer months like July and August. In addition, as temperatures tend to sit at around 30 degrees at this time of year, you might get a little too hot when exploring the area on foot during this time.
With this in mind, you might prefer to visit during the spring and the autumn, when it’s much quieter here. While temperatures don’t get too col during the winter, be prepared for most shops and restaurants to shut from November to March.
Where to stay
As a popular holiday destination, there are all kinds of accommodation options in the Amalfi Coast, from hotels and resorts, to villas, AirBnbs and hostels.
Usually, the matter of where to stay will depend on the type of trip that you’re looking to enjoy, who you’ll be travelling with, and what your budget is. Research your options ahead of time and book as far in advance as possible, especially if visiting in the summer.
The Amalfi Coast is a truly beautiful holiday destination, with many different sights and activities for tourists to enjoy. Now, all that’s left to do is get planning your itinerary, and booking the different aspects of your trip. Don’t forget to let me know how it goes?
